Sonance Rocks On with New Outdoor Designs
San Clemente, CA-October 2008-Sonance® is adding to its success in the great outdoors by adding three new models to its series of Landscape Series. Two new Sonance UV-resistant outdoor rock-like speakers, the RK83 and RK63 are engineered for new enthusiasts who like hearing their music outdoors from speakers that blend into the environment. The SoundHenge Redux is an enclosure created exclusively for the Sonance Mariner outdoor speakers. The finish options of Granite or Brown will weather the demands of outdoor life for years to come.
The Sonance SoundHenge Redux weather-resistant enclosure replicates a moderate-size boulder (18x14x13-inches) and is available in Granite or Sandstone to match local geology or individual taste. The enclosures accept any Sonance Mariner 50 or Mariner 60 range of rugged weather-resistant loudspeaker, a stereo-pair, or single stereo speaker configuration. The Mariner enclosure is fully contained within the SoundHenge Redux enclosure, which is formed and textured to blend into the background in backyards, pool areas, or wherever serious outdoor sound is required.
The RK63 Rock speaker is a 6.5-inch 2-way, roughly 10x11x14 inches and is rated for 100W maximum power handling; the 8-inch 2-way RK83 Rock speaker measures roughly 14x15x18 inches and is rated for 150W maximum.
All three new Sonance outdoor models feature rugged resin construction and aluminum and stainless-steel hardware throughout, for worry-free long-term exposure to any weather environment.

Sonance Broadens Architectural Series
ThinLine Models, Ceiling Subwoofer, New Single-Stereo All Join Range
San Clemente, CA—September 2008—Sonance® has added several new models to its groundbreaking Sonance Architectural Series® products while also announcing three important installation advances applied across the line. With the new models, the Architectural Series strengthens the company’s position in offering the broadest, most coherent range of design solutions for any installation, from the simplest to the most demanding. Like all Architectural Series products, the latest additions feature unique, truly flush-mount installation making them a designer’s dream.
The new models begin with the X6R SST, a “single-stereo” design ideal for hallways, small rooms, alcoves, and bathrooms. The X6R SST combines the powerful bass of a 6.5-inch woofer with dual mid/high-frequency sections to create surprisingly full, spacious stereo sound from a single speaker.
Next up is a trio of Architectural Series ThinLine models, engineered for the shallow-depth installations commonly required in Europe and many high-rise projects. A two-way speaker is available in three variants to meet designer or customer needs and preferences: the X6R TL (round); X6S TL (square), and X6 TL (rectangle), all use audiophile-quality carbon-fiber woofers and extended-response silk-dome tweeters. The new ThinLine speakers share the Architectural Series’ truly flush installation, and a choice of flangeless micro-flange, micro-perforated metal, or fine-cloth finish components, to yield an unequalled range of design elegance and installation options.
BPS-1 Bandpass Subwoofer
Completing the new-model introduction is the new BPS-1, an innovative bandpass subwoofer technology subwoofer uniquely engineered for in-ceiling installations. The ultimate in invisible space efficiency, the BPS-1 delivers unexpected low-bass extension and dynamic power through minimally intrusive finish components that complement today’s luxury light fixtures and wall art.
New Architectural Series Universal Bracket
Sonance has also announced two important refinements that dramatically increase the flexibility and aesthetics of all Architectural Series speakers by providing greater mounting options regardless of finish thickness or substrate material with all new Precision Fit Finish Components. The Architectural Series Universal Bracket features a telescoping adjustable-depth, mechanism that allows the award- winning line of Architectural Series speakers to be mounted perfectly flush with any wall or ceiling regardless of finish material (plaster, wood, stone, tile,
etc). The innovative “lock-and-release” system allows installation technicians to adjust the platform up to 1.5-inches (38 mm). Refined Precision Fit Finish Components eliminate any variation between the surface and the edge of the finish component. The Architectural Series Universal Bracket is available in eight different shapes and sizes.
Sonance has also announced the debut of a 1/2-inch version of the popular Gypsum Panel Bracket. This mounting platform provides the easiest and fastest method of guaranteeing an entirely flush, trimless speaker installation in any new drywall environment. The 1.2-inch Gypsum Panel Bracket will also feature the new Precision Fit Finish Components.

NACSound for Sonance Introduces Kayak Single Stereo Designer Loudspeaker
San Clemente, CA-August 20, 2008-Sonance, the leading provider of high performance audio design solutions, will introduce a striking new loudspeaker to their Italian NACSound product line at the 2008 CEDIA Expo, Booth #408, in Denver, CO, in September. The Kayak single stereo loudspeaker joins the Omni and Zemi models, which were introduced in 2007, when Sonance partnered with NACSound to handle sales and distribution under the NACSound for Sonance label to dealers in the U.S. and Canada.
The NACSound for Sonance Kayak is a single-source stereo loudspeaker able to reproduce astonishingly natural stereo sound from a single component-a visually striking form that is a work of art created by NACSound's brilliant Italian audio design team.
The Kayak, which can be suspended vertically or horizontally, utilizes elements of both omnidirectional and multidimensional sound reproduction to produce an unprecedented stereo effect in either orientation. The unique design features dual coaxial driver arrays housed in opposed cone enclosures that fire into a central computer-derived acoustic reflector meticulously formed to deliver astonishing stereo imaging from a single unit. The Kayak accepts audio amplification of 60+60 watts (RMS) and is capable of delivering rich, convincing musical reproduction with ample dynamic impact.
All materials used to create the Kayak are handcrafted to fine-art standards, including precision-machined aluminum housings available in 14 different finishes using a specially developed ceramic-coating process (special-order options cover any remaining spectrum). Finishes include both solid gloss and matte offerings as well as more complex, fine-art effects individually created for each speaker. Sonance, a leading manufacturer of loudspeakers and components for custom audio and AV systems and the inventor of the in-wall loudspeaker, sees this partnership with NACSound as an ideal complement to its existing efforts.
Ari Supran, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer said, "NACSound designs provide Sonance with the ability to offer a complete audio design portfolio from flush-mounted in-wall loudspeakers to bold, designer focused models that appeal to interior design professionals and lifestyle-conscious customers who demand truly fine sound." NACSound for Sonance models are available in 14 different finishes. Because each speaker is handcrafted, delivery will take 60-90 days from date of order. Available on a special-order basis at prices beginning at the manufacturer's suggested $2,900.

Sonance Introduces Extraordinarily Versatile Compact Amplifier
Advanced Digital Technology and Unique Adaptability Highlight Tiny Design
San Clemente, CA-June 19, 2008-Sonance, the originator of architectural in-wall loudspeakers and the market leader in numerous custom-installation products, has introduced the new Sonamp ASAP3D SE power amplifier which answers a multitude of integration challenges with unparalleled performance and efficiency.
The ASAP3D SE combines high-performance stereo power with signal-switching and control facilities that set a new standard for system versatility. The amplifier is designed to automatically switch a pair of loudspeakers between two different input sources, such as a whole-house audio system and a TV or iPort™ music system for the Apple iPod® which gives designers and installers unprecedented flexibility in system conception and layout. The ASAP3D SE automatically overrides a whole-house system whenever the local source is turned on, using one of several different trigger-and-sensing methods. But while this is the most common scenario it is far from the being the only one: the application possibilities in sophisticated multiroom and media systems are unlimited.
The Sonamp ASAP3D SE exploits IcePower® digital-amplifier technology, the most efficient and advanced power amplifier topology ever developed, to deliver 25 watts per channel to 8Ω loads, and an even more impressive 50W into 4Ω-both full-band (20Hz-20kHz), at less than 0.25% THD. IcePower delivers truly high-end listening quality as well as significant energy savings over conventional amplifier designs, and produces very little waste heat, an important but oft-overlooked consideration in selecting a whole-house amplifier.
Along with its impressive sound quality, the new Sonance ASAP3D SE provides a variable-level mono line output, allowing simple connection of a local subwoofer with no additional component or processor, which can be a vital advantage in achieving truly high-performance sound in individual rooms or zones. Additionally, the ASAP3D SE incorporates Sonance's hallmark BBE™ Sound Enhancement audio processing, which improves musical and vocal presence and detail, especially at lower listening levels-benefits that can prove particularly valuable in typical multiroom installations.
"Sonance has employed all of our extensive experience working with leading custom-installers in the development of the ASAP3SE," says Ari Supran, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Sonance. "We know better than anyone what experienced integrators need. The ASAP3D SE is engineered to be a custom installer's dream, a product that addresses a wide array of challenges, problems, and applications better than anything else on the market."
In addition to its exceptional audio performance, the ASAP3D SE features a collection of signal inputs and outputs, and control, power, and triggering options that truly set it apart. The first key to its extraordinary adaptability is its unique input facilities. There are two sets of speaker-level inputs, House, and Local, as well as line-level Local inputs. House or Local can be selected automatically by the presence of an audio signal at either Local input; by current-draw when a component (such as a television) connected to the ASAP3D's AC outlet is powered on; by a +12V trigger signal at the Sonance amp's trigger input; or via a command received by its fully integrated infrared capabilities. Consequently, the ASAP3D SE can serve a room or zone in both a whole-house and multiroom systems, and for a local source or system, such as a television or TV and DVD player pairing.
The second key is the ASAP3D SE's extensive infrared (IR) facilities. These include standard 4-IR wire input, dual mini-jack emitter outputs, and a 2-wire IR Bus connection for linking IR commands to additional ASAP3D SE's units in additional rooms or zones. IR commands can select between the House and Local inputs if desired as the only trigger method. Even better, the IR capabilities include fully variable volume control, muting, and BBE on/off, empowering the amplifier to serve a room or zone with nothing more than a local or remote source signal, for even greater flexibility in system layout. The amplifier's IR paths are fully compatible with OptiLinQ® emitters, allowing third-party control signals to pass on to intended components.
The ASAP3D SE is an ultra-compact two-channel power amplifier engineered to EIA-standard "half-rack" dimensions (9.5" W x 1.75" H x 12.5" D) and is compact enough to be comfortably hidden behind a flat-panel TV. With its unequalled combination of high-performance amplification, versatile connection and command options, and ultra-compact, scalable size, the Sonamp ASAP3D SE will truly be the Swiss Army-amp of the custom installation world. Add in its very accessible pricing, and the Sonamp ASAP3D SE is sure to be a smash hit with custom-install pros around the world.
